SOLD!

Well, unless something strange happens, our house is sold and we will be closing on August 27th! The inspection has been done, and we are moving forward.

Yesterday was my last day of work and Imajean went back to Utah today. I don't know what I would have done without her the past month. Now that work is done and the house is as good a sold, I feel a huge sense of relief. Today I just relaxed with the girls, ran some errands and spent lots of time playing outside.

An Offer!

After one week on the market and TEN showings, we have an offer on our house! We have to pass inspection, but if everything goes well we will be closing on August 27th. So, after wishing and hoping for a quick sale I now feel like things are going sooooo fast! No time to catch my breath. I'm done with work this Wednesday and I was really looking forward to having some time to just be with Elise and Anja, kick back and relax a little. But, no rest! I will be done with work this Wednesday, Imajean leaves Thursday, then I will be packing and getting ready to move!

Jason and I took Anja in for her nine month pictures today. What a cutie! She posed for every one, did a great job.

Imajean is babysitting tonight so Jason and I can go out for a date. What a treat! I can't remember the last time we had a real date. If we can just be alone in the car on the way to an appointment that feels like a date to me!

We Are "On" and Running

Wow, the past couple weeks have been a blur. We burned the midnight oil (and six a.m. oil) to get the house ready, and listed it last Thursday. So, it has been on almost a week and we've had six showings. Hooray! Now we just want an offer! The virtual tour turned out great, check it out! We are listed with Remax.

Timeline

Since the realtor was here yesterday, we now have a timeline of how things will go in the next week. Tuesday the photographer is coming to shoot pictures for the virtual tour. Thursday, our house will be on the market. SO, the house and yard need to be ready by Tuesday, and the garage needs to be cleaned out and ready by Thursday. I'm stressing about having a deadline, but at the same time I look forward to having it all done.

Jason is coming home tonight for the weekend...hooray!! I can't wait to see him!

Back to Work

The realtor came today. She complimented the work we've done. And then suggested another painting project. So, after spending hours cleaning up from last weekend projects, I have hauled back out the painting supplies and the house is a mess again. I am a bit discouraged, I feel like we were making giant steps forward in getting the house together and in "show" shape, and this feels like steps backward. I just hope it all pays off. I hope someone comes along who appreciates our house as much as we do.

A Van Down By the River

I am happy to report Jason is NOT living in a van down by the river. The first couple of nights he stayed in a hotel, and then he connected with a co-worker down there from the Metro and they are now rooming together. Jason is in an apartment in downtown Adrian (you can try to find it on a map...good luck). I hear it is not too impressive, but it is cheap and no lease is required.

Yesterday Jason went up in a tower and out onto the nose of the wind turbine. It is pretty scary, up 200 feet and just hanging out there in the open.

A New "Normal"

I want to say that life has returned to normal, but it's not the same normal. Jasons' mom, Imajean, and I are here with the girls. Everyone else has left. And this is the way it will be for the next month.

My mom and dad left today. They were here five days and worked their tails off to get our house into shape for selling. I know when they left they wished they could stay longer because they see there is so much more still to do and I know they worry about me carrying that burden. They took Dutch with them, so we can "de-dog" our house before selling.

Jason also left today. His "normal" has also changed. New job, new place to live. He is spending the night in a motel and will report for work at 7:30 tomorrow morning. He is really excited to start his new job. We are all looking forward to a report on what it is like.

Updates on the girls: Elise's new thing is running through the sprinkler. We have been watering grass because it's been pretty dry and hot. Well, one day she got wet by accident and discovered she liked it. Since then, she's been out in it every day.

Anja is a full-fledged crawler now, and getting around everywhere. She is also starting to crawl up onto things and trying to pull herself into a standing position. And, on this Fourth of July holiday weekend, she thoroughly enjoyed corn on the cob and watermelon.

The Work Continues

We are on our fourth full day of house-prep. And I mean FULL days. We are up by 7:00 in the morning, working until 10:00 or so. I have found out how late a lot of stores are open, because we are pushing the deadline on hours at Target, Home Depot, the storage unit place, and the community center (where we showered on Thursday night because the shower had just been painted).

With our small army of volunteers (Joe, Betty, Imajean, Darcie & Jason), we have painted the main bath, the main hallway, the back door/basement stairs & laundry. And we have been packing, packing, packing, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. And guess what? I think we will have to put in just as many hours in the next week to finish up.

Tomorrow Jason and my mom and dad leave. I am soooo grateful Imajean will be here to help care for Elise and Anja, because otherwise I would get nothing done.

Reinforcements Have Arrived!

My mom and dad got in last night, Jason's mom arrives this evening. We started early this morning, packing and prepping to paint. We are going to be worker bees for the next 4 days, burning the midnight oil to get things done and get the house ready to put on the market.
